PRO-RESOURCE TEMP
Install, maintain, diagnose and repair faults in customer premise equipment including Mitel, Avaya, Nortel, HP and Cisco
Repair, test, run wiring and jumpers to verify connections on Main Distribution Frame (MDF) in the CO and work on site with customer wiring
Install, maintain, update and document customer circuits and facilities - interface with business customers for Frontier services and equipment
Install, maintain and repair Customer Premise Equipment providing voice and data services; special circuits, xDSL, Video, VoIP and Data Networking
Strong working knowledge of and the operation of communications equipment and technologies (both existing and new)
Work with installation and repair technicians to test and resolve customer problems, provide information to complete jobs, work orders and service orders, coordinate with assignments as needed
Process repair and return of electronic components and customer premise equipment equipment
Interface with internal/external customers in a professional manner to coordinate and disseminate information to complete job assignments and attain service objectives
Support and actively participate in promotion of company products and services - act as a sales referral outlet for Frontier while conducting regular business
Be mindful in security (both physical and logical) including the preventative maintenance of all customer network elements
Aids and assist other departments including contractors as required
Performs all other duties/assignments as required by supervisor
Provision and test both services and circuits both over copper and fiber optics facilities
Program and configure data and voice switching equipment as required - both central office and customer based
_Candidate should be able to demonstrate the following skills:_
Journeyman level understanding on Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) including equipment deployment in both ATM and IP environments. Strong and proven trouble shooting skills in xDSL services.
Understanding of Ethernet networking including equipment configuration, VLAN's, QoS and trouble shooting
Strong working knowledge of wireless networking including WiFi configuration and maintenance.
Good understanding of telecommunications plant and facilities; both copper and fiber optics.
Hands on experience in customer premise equipment (CPE); including switches, routers and gateways
Must be a demonstrated team player with the ability work across disciplines in both voice and data communications
Ability and willingness to learn advanced data communications skills including classes and certifications
Strong understanding of data communications with demonstrated training and experience. Working knowledge of telecommunications operations, processes and procedures
Operate with demonstrated skills; equipment installation, configuration and trouble shooting. Hands on experience in connecting services and circuits: including DS-1's, DS-3's and OC-x and Ethernet.
Ability to work varying hours and to be on call as required by the business
Strong problem resolution skills are a requirement in this position
